19th of May 1787
Dear Diary,I am only 15 and the worst thing just has been told to me. I have 7 years transportation to New South Wales. I am so scared! I just wanted to get some clothing. Im just so cold, I didn't even know it was 30 shillings, I just wanted to be warm. I hope its better there than here. I'm very poor, I live in a pile of f hay with a very thick piece of clothing. I eat food of the ground and when Im lucky I see something in the mud because I am a mudlark. I can have something that is not of the ground. Im so scared,well wish me luck.

ReplyDeleteOh this is very real. You can Google her story. She was a convict who was transported to NSW because she stole clothes.
