10th of October 1786
Dear Jornal, I am so unhappy and sad at the moment because I got sent to the Old Baily because I robbed someone's wallet that was worth twenty shillings. I am twenty-three years old and I do not have an occupation. My life was terrible when I was back home! I was very poor. I have children and they are very sick, and I miss them so much! I do not know what I am going to do in the Old Baily. I am getting sentenced to transportation to New South Wales. I am really sad about going into a new world, and sad about never seeing my family again.
